Finance & HR Manager

The role: We are looking for a multi-talented team player who will support TFGA as the eminent policy and advocacy body for Tasmanian agriculture. As our newest team member you will immediately step into a leadership role where you will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, human resource management (including payroll) and data management/analysis for TFGA, ensuring high level governance and compliance with all regulations and internal policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone with high attention to detail who can also demonstrate and embody TFGA’s core values.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based advice to the TFGA CEO, the Leadership Team and Colleagues.
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of financial functions, processes and procedures including accounting, finance, risk and compliance, and contract management
  • Manage and deliver the management accounts, financial forecasting, cash flow and coordination of audit activities as well as accounts payable and receivable
  • Present management reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and Board meetings
  • Operational lead for Management framework and compliance activities
  • Be involved in a range of operational planning initiatives in developing the annual operating plan and budgets to support strategic goals
  • Managing project progress and adapt work as required
  • Overseeing all relevant incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Securing growth opportunities and initiating new projects
  • Conducting project review and creating detailed reports
  • Compile and update employee records (hard & soft copies)
  • Prepare employee contracts and position descriptions
  • Any additional duties which may be required from time to time to meet the business objectives and needs of the organisation.

To be regarded for this exciting opportunity, you will have 5+ years’ experience working in a similar role for a small to medium sized organisation. You will have a business or commerce degree and CPA/CA qualification would be desirable, with experience across accounting, finance and other business-related fields you will have the adequate training and background that this role requires. As an analytical thinker, you will use your problem-solving skills to promptly solve issues as they arise. With excellent planning and prioritising ability, you will be outcome-driven, self-motivated and demonstrate strong negotiation skills. If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!
