For the last 20 years Alastair has run a mixed farming operation near Cressy. A mixture of dryland and irrigated cropping, the operation produces cereals, pulses, linseed, poppies and hemp. A lesser part of the operation is the production of fine wool and lambs. Prior to running his own farm, he worked in policy development, implementation and compliance for a Commonwealth Department.
Alastair was also a director of the Cressy-Longford Irrigation Scheme for eight years. He has served for a short period on the TFGA Wool Council and is currently a member of the TFGA Agriculture Council, the TFGA Wildlife Policing and Firearms Committee and the Tasmanian Game Council.
