View our intent to develop a Registered Code of Practice for the Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural industry and how you can get involved

TFGA has been provided funding from Department of State Growth to develop and deliver a Registered Industry Code of Practice for the Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural Sectors, suitable for registration under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), as annexed to the Master Registered Industry Code of Practice.

The Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural Registered Code of Practice will consider and assess risks and control measures that are specific to the operation of the agricultural and horticultural heavy vehicle supply chain in Tasmania.

It acknowledges that the risks identified during the development of this code may be relevant to agricultural and horticultural operations in other states and territories. While the proposed scope will initially cover Tasmania, the intention is to broaden the applicability of the code nationally.

TFGA will be consulting widely in developing this Registered Code of Practice. Including:

  • Agricultural and horticultural operators/businesses
  • Processors and contractors
  • Heavy vehicle transport operators
  • State peak bodies
  • Port and shipping operators

We want to hear from you. We have developed a survey, which is the first step for you to get involved in the development of the Code of Practice and to have your say. Please help us identify the heavy vehicle risks and issues specific to your industry sector by completing this short survey - Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural Registered Code of Practice Online survey

Following this survey, the TFGA will be facilitating regional workshops or online webinars to build upon the survey findings by assessing the industry specific risks identified and developing control measures to be included in the Code of Practice.
