Growers are invited to attend an information session on the Australian Government’s Seasonal Work Incentives Trial which commenced on 1 July this year.
The Department of Employment provided information sessions about the Trial between
May to July 2017. Four sessions will be held throughout Tasmania on 30-31
October in Richmond, Huonville and Elizabeth Town.
Many horticultural growers struggle with the seasonal labour demands. This Trial offers financial incentives to encourage unemployed people to take up short term seasonal work opportunities in the industry to help address these demands.
These locations have been selected based on areas of high harvest and feedback received from horticultural peak and regional bodies and growers.
