The TFGA welcomes the announcement from the Premier that agriculture will be a key driver in rebuilding the Tasmanian economy on the back of the COVID 19 impacts.

“The Premier, Peter Gutwein and Agriculture Minister, Guy Barnett are to be commended for the recognition that agriculture has played and will play in securing the future for Tasmania. Rebuilding from COVID-19 will be a challenge, but it will also provide opportunities as our economy gets back on its feet” said TFGA CEO Peter Skillern

“It is imperative that we all work together to strengthen our economy and get our State headed in the right direction” said Mr Skillern

The commitment to continue drought proofing our farms and building on our nation leading irrigation infrastructure will ensure the ongoing and enhanced success of agriculture in this State.
