Charter for Working on Private Farmland

20 September 2019

The TFGA welcomes today’s announcement of a Charter between farmers and utilities on access to private farmland.

TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said “This is an important step whereby those entering farms acknowledge and respect the rights and responsibilities of farmers in regard to their property”

The Charter will improve communication between farmers and the ‘utilities’ employees and contractors (the ‘officers’) who come onto farms as part of their day to day operations. The TFGA will continue to work closely with both the Government and the Utilities such as TasNetworks as the introduction of the Charter rolls out.
