Concern by the legal action currently before the courts

The TFGA is concerned by the legal action currently before the courts by the Bob Brown Foundation. An action if successful, that could very well destroy the Forestry Industry with significant impacts on Tasmanian Farmers.

CEO Peter Skillern said, “The current campaign by the Bob Brown Foundation to end native and plantation forestry is extremely disappointing and if successful would have significant consequences for Tasmanian Farmers and our Regional communities.”

The Tasmanian Regional Forestry Agreement has been the management tool for two or more decades. It is a mechanism that seeks a balance between economic, environmental, and social outcomes, to now suggest twenty years on that this document is not valid, beggar’s belief.
