Energy for Tasmanian farmers

The TFGA commends the Liberal Party for their policy announcement over the weekend to inject a further $6.25 million-dollars into renewal energy generation from irrigation and other tools to help farmers reduce their energy costs. This policy has also announced a commitment to instigate irrigation tariffs equal to or lower than those that are currently offered on the mainland.
The undertaking that they will work with the TFGA in reviewing current tariff structures and developing irrigation tariffs that are more suitable to modern farming practices is to be highly commended.
This policy demonstrates a genuine desire to assist in reducing the energy costs of farmers in Tasmania.
