The TFGA today welcomes the announcement by the Hon. David Littleproud, Minister for Agriculture that agriculture jobs in Australia are essential, the Minister announced that from a Federal Governments perspective food production and supply is an essential service.
“The announcement today that State imposed border shutdowns will not affect the agricultural supply chain, access to workers, food production and transportation and logistics is warmly welcomed by the agricultural sector” said Peter Skillern, TFGA CEO.
The TFGA will continue to work with the State Government to ensure that emerging issues within the sector are dealt with rapidly and as a State we continue to support the food supply chain.
