Government’s commitment to Tasmania’s Potato Industry

The TFGA commends Minister Barnett’s announcement yesterday reinforcing the Government’s commitment to Tasmania’s Potato Industry. His commitment to supply the Statement of Reasons for the allowance of imported potatoes from South Australia is a step in the right direction to ensure transparency in these types of matters.
A further commitment to review the Import Risk Assessment and the seeking of public comment before the end of this calendar year is to be commended. These announcements will go a long way to ensure improved communications with the industry.
