Irrigations schemes continue to build our productive capacity

The Southern Highlands Irrigation Scheme is another successful chapter in the story of the provision of water surety for irrigation and agriculture in Tasmania.

Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) CEO Peter Skillern said that the scheme would give the traditionally dry southern district the confidence to build on its productive capacity.

“The TFGA has been a great supporter of these irrigation schemes throughout the State,’’ Mr Skillern said.

“We continue to look forward to further expansion and development in this area.”
