New Premier of Tasmania

The Tasmanian Farmers & Graziers Association congratulates Jeremy Rockliff who has officially been confirmed as Tasmania’s 47^th Premier with Bass MP Michael Ferguson stepping into the Deputy Premier role.

‘We welcome Jeremy Rockliff as the new Premier of Tasmania, we are especially pleased to see a person in the role who has a strong agricultural background, we also wish to congratulate Michael Ferguson on his appointment as Deputy Premier and we look forward to working with them both in the future.’ TFGA acting CEO Mr Marcus McShane said.

This is a crucial time for agriculture in Tasmania with farmers facing many challenges such as the labour shortage and significant increases in costs

Marcus McShane also added ‘We thank Peter Gutwein for his service to Tasmania and feel he was always keen to listen and particularly proactive in addressing the challenges of changing climate and what that means to agriculture.’
