Seasonal agricultural workers will be permitted into the State for the coming season

The TFGA welcomes the announcement from Guy Barnett Minister for Primary Industries and Water that seasonal agricultural workers will be permitted into the State for the coming season.

CEO Peter Skillern said ”This an important initiative that will ensure that the sector has adequate workers for the upcoming season. Equally important is the process that has been put in place to ensure that workers coming into the State are COVID free.”

It is imperative that the Tasmanian community has confidence in this process and continues to feel COVID safe as we address the shortage of workers in the State.” Mr Skillern said.

The TFGA continues to work with the Minister to ensure the success of this important initiative.
