African Swine Fever Exercise

TFGA was invited to attend an African Swine Fever Preparedness exercise with the DPIPWE animal health team. It was great to be involved with response planning and preparedness for a possible outbreak of this disease and help represent an industry perspective. African Swine Fever (ASF) is a highly contagious disease in pigs and has been reported in multiple areas of China and can spread through infected pigs, contaminated pens, equipment, machinery and vehicles as well as through swill (scrap) feeding pigs.
