Potato Mop-Top Virus (PMTV)

What is it: Virus that mostly effects potatoes

Where is it: Worldwide including New Zealand (since September 2018)

What does it do: Causes distortions in the skin, deep cracking and rust-coloured arcs, streaks/flecks in the tuber flesh

How does it spread: Via a soil-borne fungus that causes Powdery Scab, so it can be transported in soil on boots, machinery, equipment and vehicles
