Spotted Wing Drosophila Seminar

On Wednesday 31 September, TFGA was invited to attend and present at a seminar on Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD). SWD is a fly not yet in Australia, that reproduces in soft skinned fruits, including blueberries and raspberries. SWD can cause crop losses of up to 80 percent. The event, facilitated by Cesar, Hort Innovation and Plant Health Australia was a great opportunity for producers to hear from world expects on SWD, Professor Rufus Issacs and Dr. Betha Shaw.
